As the largest international event for the electronics production industry, Productronica is the only trade fair worldwide to cover the entire value chain. It combines all elements of the innovative development and production of electronics and is the most important platform for innovations and world premieres— from technologies to software to services. The feedback received during Productronica showed that ABI products and marketing strategies are on the right track.

A record number of visitors from all over the world visited ABI’s booth and highly praised the uniqueness and affordability of our product range. In particular, the official launch of the PPS generated a large number of positive reviews. The Programmable Power Supply (PPS) is ABI’s most ambitious power module developed for the SYSTEM 8 range. Over 35 years of excellence in product design and manufacturing were applied to the making of this USB driven, versatile unit that suits various test and measurement scenarios. From low to medium volume production test, through to predictive/corrective and PCB troubleshooting tasks.

In addition to the new PPS module, the automated test rig was showcased which made use of the SYSTEM 8 MMS, AICT, MIS4 and the SmartSwitch. This solution showed how ABI products can be used for low to medium volume automated testing. Not only are you able to carry out component level and board level tests, these can also be automated. The test rig caught great attention and led to many enquires. This goes to show how universal and versatile ABIs test and measurement equipment is.

While at Productronica 2019, many large multinational companies looking to invest in PCB repair equipment visited ABI. These organisations included NATO (Mission Systems), Ottobock, Rheinmetall Defence, Siemens Mobility, MBDA, Thyssenkrupp, CAF Trains and more. All interested in the test & measurement of their critical and expensive PCBs. ABI is now in communications with all of them, and we are expecting orders to be announced at the start of next year.

Many of ABI’s worldwide network of distributors also visited the stand. Several meetings took place between the distributors and the management team at ABI regarding the numerous exciting opportunities coming to light as well as the rising demand for ABI products.

Along with the company’s globally known range of component and PCB level fault finding solutions, the TestFlow Manager received an excellent response from the visitors. The unique SYSTEM 8 software feature was considered a much-needed innovation not only for PCB maintenance but also for the recording of test results and settings as well as operator’s actions during the debugging of prototypes or PCBs rejected at the end of the production line. ABI's exclusive repair technologies are extending the lifecycle of critical components and sub-assemblies reducing ewaste, CO2 and costs.

Key decision makers from aerospace infrastructure to defence, renewable energy, and rail systems engineers were attracted by ABI slogans: “ABI Saves you time†as well as “Repair, don’t waste†that formed a common theme across our stand.
